Another S-Press success in Italy |
|
We recently installed a S-PRESS retrofit at the company S.I.F.A., situated in central Italy and owned by the Trasarti brothers. S.I.F.A. made the decision to decommission their existing shoe-type heat transfer system and replace it with S-PRESS. This important decision was made with the expectation of eliminating constant down-warp problems when running E-flute at speeds of 250 m/min.

Following the first two weeks after the installation, the customer was particularly pleased not only because the down-warp problem was resolved, but the S-PRESS had also given even more benefits, including:
- Flatter, drier board
- Reduced glue consumption, i.e. 1 gsm/m2 reduction
- Reduced main drive power consumption of between 30kW - 40kW
- Increase in double-wall speeds to 250 m/min
- Increase in E-flute speeds up to 300 m/min
- Elimination of edge-bond problems on all 7 paper widths.

SIMON is pleased to report a highly successful appearance again at the Sino-Corrugated 2011 exhibition in Shanghai where we presented the S-PRESS Double Facer Heat Transfer System.
As well as receiving many positive enquiries, we were also successful in attaining an order for a complete new S-PRESS system due for installation in August.

S-Press installation in Poland |
|

Another extremely successful S-PRESS installation in Poland, this time replacing an existing Shoe system on an Agnati Double Facer.
Immediate improvements remarked by the customer were faster speeds, drier board and a much better control of upwarp. They are also able to run their special grades faster, with improved quality and now without any blisters or delamination. A significant drop in Double Facer power consumption was also noted by the customer.

Two S-Press installations in California, USA |
|

Here, we undertook two S-PRESS installations at two seperate factories over one weekend ! The first customer had an existing Shortpress system and the 10 modules on the Heating Section were replaced with 8 S-PRESS modules. The second customer was running with an Interfic system. This was removed and replaced with 10 S-PRESS modules on the Heating Section and 3 S-PRESS modules on the Traction/Pulling Section. Both these customers purchased the new S-PRESS based on the promise of improved board quality and are delighted with the results.

S-Press installation in Poland |

With the help of a team of technicians from SIMON Polska and SCM Inc, we installed a S-PRESS retrofit
on a 2800mm wide Marquip/Ward/United Double Facer. This took place over one weekend and successfully started-up on time, much to the delight of the customer.

This shows the stack of board produced at 300 m/min shortly after the start-up of the S-PRESS. |
